Miss Geary's Bear Unit
Our student teacher, Miss Geary, has done a great job teaching the first graders about living and non-living things and bears. Here's a glimpse into some of her fun hands-on and technology-based activities. As you can see, this unit has been lots of fun. Ask your first grader to share some fun facts with you!

Daily 5
Students have learned how to rotate through literacy stations while a teacher works with small reading groups. Students know how to visit the following stations and complete productive literacy tasks at each: Read to Self, Buddy Read, Word Work, Writing, Listening Center, and Computer. As students visit reading group, they are working on solidifying phonics and decoding skills and learning reading strategies to help with accuracy and comprehension when reading.
