Costume Day

The first graders voted to celebrate our 150th gem with a Costume Party in December. Now we're working towards an Extra Recess with a Snowman Contest for our 225th gem. These kiddos have the best ideas! Let's hope the weather cooperates! We think Mr. Kramer can lead one team and Ms. Dennington can lead the other.

Science Work

First graders looked at a variety of non-fiction books about plant and animal life-cycles. Then they compared and contrasted young plants and animals with their parents. (I forgot to to take a picture of one of the groups. Sorry kiddos!)

Now we're learning about how to tell if something is a living or a nonliving thing.

Project Read with a Buddy

The first graders love reading together. One morning we finished our Project Read activity early so we decided to practice reading older stories with a friend.
